Byrek & Beyond: Cooking Experience in Tirana
As the sun sets over Tirana, the city comes alive with the aromas of its rich culinary heritage.
Albania's history is woven into its cuisine. Tirana stands as a vibrant melting pot where the diverse culinary traditions of Albania converge. From the hearty, meat-centric dishes of the northern mountains to the light, Mediterranean-inspired flavors of the southern coast, the city's cuisine reflects a harmonious blend of regional influences.
We'll begin our evening in a welcoming local kitchen. Under the guidance of a local chef, you'll learn to prepare specialties such as Byrek—a savory pastry filled with cheese or meat—and stuffed peppers.
After the hands-on cooking session, we'll gather around the table to savor the fruits of our labor, accompanied by locally produced wine and the traditional spirit, Raki.
